The August 2025 issue of Mi’kmaq-Maliseet Nations News shares how MDCC completed Phase 2 of the “Home to Mi’kma’kik” project, where Mi’kmaw beaders, quillers, and basketmakers travelled to the Smithsonian to sit with ancestral belongings. Their time was filled with care, reflection, and teaching — experiences that deepened connections to tradition and shaped how knowledge will be carried forward.
