Story of the Stone Maidens

As with many stories, the Story of the Stone Maidens both educates and entertains. In this case the story helps us to mark and map the seascape of Unama’ki.

In this film, Clifford Paul of the Unama’ki Institute of Natural Resources, shares one of the Kluskap stories about the Stone Maidens. Incorporating Kluskap’s Sacred Cave and the Bird Islands off the coast, the story both entertains and educates. Like many Kluskap stories, it helps us to identify the lands and its features, and to pass this information on to future generations.
